Becky Higgins Baby Kit

Warning- really long post ahead !! As per your  requests todays post is going to cover off one of the baby albums I completed for Flynn for the first year of his life. This kit was actually launched when Flynn was about 18 months and so I had already scrapbooked his life up until then including pregnancy but when I saw the kit I knew I still had to complete this album. It is such a great over view of this special time and I fell in love with the kit and everything in it- I especially love the abundance of journaling cards you receive to document this time.

An important thing to note in this kit is that EVERYTHING is double sided or you get both a girl and boy version. So although everything you are seeing in my album is boy colours there is also the option of making this kit completely girly. The price this kit sells for is $45 which is fantastic value as you get everything you need to complete 2  albums and I had a lot of stuff left over as well. Here is the link to buy the kit  and here is heaps of information by Becky at the time the kit was launched. I bought a few of these and out them away for all of our future babies.

I am going to be showing you post one of Album #1 today which covers pregnancy, birth and the first few days. I will be sharing a second post for the rest of this albums pages and  album #2 soon which covers months 1 through 12 and the 1st birthday.

Cover Page-

One of the first pages is Expecting you-

Left hand side of the page-

Right hand side of the page-

Here is a close up of what some of the journaling cards look like-

Being Showered- Keeping in mind this could be used for any way that your loved ones helped you out when you were pregnant, cooked you a meal etc it does not have to be for a traditional baby shower

Left hand side of the page-

Right hand side of the page-

Delivery Day- I excluded the left side of the page for you as I am sure you don’t all  want to see me in labour ; )

This is a close up of one of the pockets included in the kit. I used this one for bracelets and the cord clamp.

This is the page with the pocket flipped over-

Flynn’s first days (in hospital and giong home)-

Left hand side of the page-

Right hand side of the page-

Some of the other pages and layouts that are part of this kit and album that are not shown here are-

The story of us- the story of you and your husband and how you met/fell in love and got married etc

Our Family Tree

Mum and Dad write about how they feel about the pregnancy/birth.

It really is a great comprehensive kit and it will be a fabulous thing to hand down to future generations, I am so pleased with the finished product and I am looking forward to doing another album for our next gorgeous baby boy.   Speaking of little boys I just had to include my little boy helping out turning the pages for me whilst I was photographing this album. He had such a great time looking through and pointing out all of the people he recognized.

Beautiful pics Jade, and how gorgeous is Flynn – cluck cluck!!

Your scrapbooking has inspired me… as have your organisational skills! After having a complete mess of a study and not being able to scrapbook (or having the motivation to do so) I spent a good part of the weekend tidying up and reorganising so I can get back in to it all.

I also started a journal of the first 365 days of my little boys life, one of the Kikki K ones – and given he’s turning one next week, I have a bit of catching up to do! But I’m getting there. I think I might have to get a Becky Higgins kit as well!

You really inspire me, and I really look forward to your post each morning – thanks!

Lovely album. Makes me get all clucky too – luckily I’m already pregnant. I just love how all the pictures look and it will be a beautiful album to look back on.

You may have inspired me to take up scrapbooking…..

I also look forward to your post each morning!

    Hi Jade!
That is such a lovely album and is so precious!
Is that a We R Memory Keepers album too?
I was wondering how many pages those ring binders will hold – thinking of buying one to replace the ugly ugly photo albums I have for my son but not sure if one is enough!

    • Jade says:

Thanks for the comments re Flynn’s album girls : ) Yes it is a WR Memory Keepers album in yellow. Bianca they hold around 30 refills so 60 pages.

Hi Jade – just a quick question. I want to scrap my 2 childrens first years in the Becky Higgins Baby Kit (I have 1 boy & 1 girl). Do I need to buy 2 kits. or is there enough left over from the first one to complete a second one?

Hi Jade, I love your album so far! I just ordered this and put it together last night in advance of my May due date. I couldn't find the other posts that you mentioned with the remaining pages in this album and your next album. Have you posted them yet? If not, could you??? Pretty please???
    Thanks,
