Saying Thanks

I think saying thanks to those you love and who help you out on a daily, weekly basis is really important. Certainly in our house those people who help us make our week run smoothly. We have Simon’s mum and my mum  in 3 days a week while I work for us to be able to make it all happen, and although they love spending quality alone time playing with their grandson it is also important to let them know on a random basis just how much we appreciate what they do. So the flowers and cards and gifts can get a little boring and so we make things, Flynn does cards and drawings and I make sure to save some baking for them to take home and share with their family.

And as I know everyone loves a cute download I thought I would share this one with everyone today. You can find the download here I love this site I have found so many great printables and ideas to share with everyone.

For the process I just thought I would snap this photo before I started to show you just how easy this is. I am just like the rest of you- time poor. I don’t have loads of time to sit down and do these things during the day or at night, the only way I get anything done is by multi tasking. I grabbed these supplies after serving up and snack platter for afternoon tea on this Tuesday afternoon and sat myself next to Flynn and whilst we chatted about our day I also made this little topper. It was also a great chance to chat to him about giving a little gift to Grandma and how he could say thank you and give her this special present tomorrow.

And because I am sure you will all ask the bread is a banana and blueberry loaf and I here is the recipe : )

Ingredients-

1 1/4 cups self-raising flour

1 tps cinnamon

20g butter

1/2 brown sugar

1 egg beaten lightly

1/4 cup milk

1 banana – mashed

1/3 cup blueberry’s

1. Sift flour and cinnamon into a large bowl and then rub in butter.

2. Stir in sugar, egg, milk, blueberry’s and  banana. Do not overmix the  batter should be lumpy

3. Spoon into a prepared pan and bake in a hot oven for about 30 minutes.

    What a cute little topper.
I made little easter bags up for my family, and used toppers similar to these for the easter bags. Everyone loved them, and commented on how they add a nice little personal touch to a gift.
And thanks for the piccies of the banana and blueberry bread… i’m hungry now! :D

Jade, you’re so very lucky to have both grandmas there to help care for Flynn, he’s a lucky little guy too! My mum is not able to help out as much but next time she can I’ll be making something like this for her. Thank you.
