KISS- Keep it simple ..
Yum, I love cookies and iced cookies are even better : ) These are super easy to make and very yummy, vanilla cookies with a vanilla icing.

Ingredients-
1 cup self raising flour
1/4 cup caster sugar
45g unsalted butter
1 small egg lightly beaten
1 tp vanilla essence
Icing-
1/2 cup icing sugar
1/2 tp vanilla essence
2 tbs water
1. Sift the flour into a large mixing bowl. Add the butter and process in your electric mixer until it resembles breadcrumbs. Add the sugar and keep mixing.
2. Add the vanilla essence and egg and stir with a spatula until a smooth dough forms.
3. Roll the mixture into small balls and press lightly with the back of a spoon. Bake in a moderate oven for 15 minutes. Turn the tray if necessary to get an even colour on the cookies.
4. For the icing – Sift the icing sugar into a small bowl then add the vanilla pasta and water. Stir until a stiff icing forms.
5. Once the cookies have completely cooled top with the icing and a little valentines love heart : )
Then eat some before the kids get to them ; )

Yum!!!
Thanks!!
Will make them with Chase today, surprise Xander when he gets home from school. At BigW I found a dinosaur and car cookie cutters! They even have windows on cars and spots/toenails on Dino!
BTW, your recipe is perfect for converting to allergy safe! Anything with small amounts of egg can be substituted! Thanks xx

Hi Jade,
Can I ask where you purchased the lollies that go on the top ? Thanks.
Thanks Diane and Nadia : ) Nadia in Woolworth in the lolly isle they sell a bag of heart lollies in a roll- you get about 12 in a pack. I just opened one of the rolls and used them for the decorations- I will have a look today and see what they are called. xx
