I love my mum. She was such an amazing Mother for me all throughout my younger years and now into adult hood. I have many many fond memories from my childhood but what I find funny is that is is the small stuff that seems to stick with you the most, licking the bowl when cooking, having themed parties, having a dessert dinner night (where you eat dessert before dinner), getting Mc Donalds on our birthday morning if it was a school day etc. It is all the little things that make the memories so wonderful and magical.
One of the memories that stuck with me was my mum making us mini pancakes/pikelets whenever she made a batch. They were so cute and small and we always loved them. Such a small thing but gosh it was fun. So this weekend when I made pancakes for breakfast I did the same for my son Flynn. He got some itty bitty teeny tiny pancakes : ) He thought they were wonderful and I am so happy to be able to continue this small tradition and memory with my own child.
I would love to think that we take all of the wonderful things from our own childhood memories and make them for our own family, adding our own traditions as well in an effort to create some wonderful memories.

Jade, what lovely words. I hope your mum reads them and is very proud of her parenting, and also to see you carrying on the same traditions with your own family.
And those pancakes… Mmmm… I want to eat them through the screen!!
They are so cute.
What a lovely daughter you are and it’s great that you had such a wonderful mother.
Thanks girls ; ) She deserves the credit. The does read occasionally, we will see how often LOL!!
