I have not done a pregnancy post in awhile and so I thought I would do a little update as I head past the halfway mark.

I am now about 23 weeks pregnant and getting close to the 6 month mark. One of the things that has surprised me the most is just how quickly the second pregnancy flies by! Obviously you are a LOT busier second time around and with a lot less time to rest and ponder on the pregnancy the days just whizz past.
I am so so grateful to not be feeling sick much at all anymore : ) I will maybe have 1-2 days a weeks where I am sick in the morning but that’s it. It is fabulous, and funnily enough I have already forgotten how truly awful those first 18-19 weeks were where I was sick almost every day. The body is an amazing thing and soon after the event it helps you to move on and forget- very grateful for that.
I have not had that all illusive burst of energy yet. I don’t seem to get that until further along in the pregnancy and I am still feeling insanely tired like I could sleep the days away. I struggle with this more than anything. I am accustomed to being a super energetic, hyper person with 458, 000 things on the go and to have to slow down as my body just wont let me do any more is hard! Flynn has watched more TV in the last 5 months than he has in his entire life, and although I feel incredibly guilty for that he does not seem to have suffered too much for it. As I get my energy back we are starting to do more fun things together again which is great.
My indecisive nature when pregnant is also driving me crazy as I attempt to pick out furniture for Flynn’s new room and constantly change my mind- I want someone to just decide for me- wood or white? Luckily I have bought all of the linen, quilt covers and wallpaper border as I couldn’t cope with having to choose a colour scheme as well. We are currently making space in the garage to get everything moved in there from the spare room so we can start work in Flynn’s new room, hoping to have this project complete by March/ April to give him time to adjust to the new room.
Work is harder this time as my job this pregnancy is more physically demanding- I have to get in and out of the car a lot, I can see this getting harder and harder as time goes on and the heat doesn’t helps with this. But with this comes an uber flexible schedule, which I really need at the moment. My maternity leave has all been approved which is great but I am unsure as to exactly how much time I will be having off- it is something I will decide at the time. What I do know is when I go back to work I will be working around feeding and sleeping schedules so I am home during those awake times- it is going to be a busy few months.
As I pass the halfway mark the birth of my second child starts to weigh on my mind a little and I have started to give this a little thought and discussion with my OB. Flynn was induced at 39 weeks as he was measuring big and this baby is also starting to measure on the bigger side already with extra fluid as well. The OB is going to monitor this as I get closer to my due date and we will make a decision re induction when necessary, I am not bothered either way as long as I have a healthy baby at the end that’s all that matters for us. I had a wonderful drug free labor with Flynn even though I was induced and so I am not too concerned.
I try and remind myself every day especially the hard and tiresome ones that I am lucky and privileged and blessed to be with child. A healthy child, after all your health really is all that matters : ).

You look gorgeous here Jade. I can’t believe you are almost at the 6 month mark!
Thanks Tara : ) I know it has gone so quickly I cannot believe it !!!
