Bath time

A quick bath time organising tip for you today.

Do you ever bath or shower your children away from the “normal” place? We often shower the boys in our bathroom as an option if we all need to jump in. I just wanted to share with you a little organising tip I have grown to love over the years to make this a little easier.

Before the even run the shower I head on through Flynn’s bedroom, the nursery etc to et all the necessary bits and pieces we will need for out shower time pyjamas, outfits, nappies, lotion, towels, moisturiser etc. They I lay it all out on the bed ready to go for both boys.

Organising in the Laundry

In cleaning out some cute tins on our Laundry bench recently I thought I would share with you how I organise this counter top at the moment. I am lucky enough to have a bench in my laundry and after many a home with just a washing machine and a trough I am eternally grateful for this. It make my washing SO much easier and also means I fold as I go in the Laundry so we don’t end up with clean laundry sprawled all over our home.

I have written a lot before about how much I heart our laundry drawers and their great function and so I will no ramble on about them today. Instead I will just cover a few counter containers that have helped to organise this space for me and enable it to work really well.

Organising to go out- alone

Yes with no children.

It happens but occasionally in my home when I get dressed up and head out for night alone. Yes with no children. Love them as I do getting dressed in something they would ruin in 5 minutes and shoes I could never carry a baby in is fun, refreshing and different. As I got ready on this last Saturday night to head out to a girlfriends engagement party it occurred to me that as with most things in my life I had a system for these rare nights out to make them run a lot more smoothly.

And so I thought I thought I would share a few of these snippets of my night- getting ready with you in the thought you might pick up a few mummy going out organising tips.

More time

Would you like some? I know I am totally all for anything that will give me just a little bit less time doing housework and a lot more time to enjoy with my family. I have been looking at getting an automatic vacuum/ mop for AGES and so I was thrilled when Robomaid contacted me to ask if I wanted to test out their fabulous product.

Organising media

The topic of the day here is organising media. CD’s and DVD’s take up a lot of space, can be super messy and unsightly. I was asked a little while ago how I go about this in our home and so I would like to share that with you today.

Making school mornings easier

To making school mornings easier and less rushed : )

That is what today is all about. A simple idea (not mine) that I wanted to share with you that might just help your little ones get ready just a little bit smoother.

As a mummy with a non reader a solution with pictures is FAB for me, these 4 cards give Flynn a clear picture of what he needs to get done in the morning to help us leave for school. He can count up to four and so can work his way through the cards as well reading the pictures and following the instructions.

Organising the fridge

So the fridge. I get lots of questions about this and I am with you. Hear that. My fridge gets messy like yours does. Things get put back in the wrong place sometimes food even turns before we get to use it. BUT I do the best I can and I try to keep all of the above to a minimum.

As I said in my last post about the kitchen I made the choice to use Tupperware for my fridge. This is after a lot of careful research about what I needed and how long I wanted to keep my food fresh for. They stack great as you can see from the photos and keep my foods super fresh especially as I chop everything up.

Feeding “stuff”

This is the next post in my little mini series about feeding babies I am going to show you today how we use the space within our kitchen to accomodate the “stuff” associated with feeding our two little boys.

Firstly I just want to add I became a Tupperware demonstrator to stock my kitchen well before we had our children. The same will be apparent when you see my pantry post. Other containers like decor etc are easily accessible and you could use these to get a similar result : ).
