So we all have clutter right?
I sure do. I am not exempt at all from having stuff in my home that I don’t need/want or use. Things I have bought I am not using, gifted with that I don’t need, old containers which are empty etc.
Firstly you need to be in the “mood” to clear clutter. If my head is not in the right space I usually don’t even start to organise. I need to be a throwing out sort of mood. I generally go in with an end goal. I think about the room before I get started- sometimes for weeks. I look at what is working, what is not and why? And I often even jot a few notes about a room first.
Of all that I am the greatest gift is that of Motherhood.
Coming to a peace of sorts in the knowledge that I am the very best Mother for my own children and you are all to yours. You give the warmest hugs, create the most magical moments and you know your own children the very best. In this fleeting time that is Mothering small children taking the time to cherish the smallest moments and to breathe oh no very deeply is more important than ever.
And so today I share with you these wise words
It is nearly that time of year : ) The one day we get to sleep in, have coffee bought to us and breakfast in bed. Hand made cards and precious painted coffee mugs ; ) So Bianca (the fabulousness that is A Little Delightful) were hanging out the other day and we decided to make a little something to share for Mothers Day.
So the idea began to make a sweet printable we could pass over to our lovely co-operative husbands to complete for us. A wonderful keepsake to treasure forever.
We did a lot of organising this weekend and one of my priorities was to sort out the mess that was the clothes in Flynn’s room. When he moved into this room he was nearly 3 and now at nearly 4 there were sizes 2, 3 and 4 in his room. This was chaos. I kept thinking we had lots of clothes but really we had lots of too small clothes and so a clean out was in order.
Our holidays was the time to do it and so it went on the to do list. Firstly this is my process although I was so super focused and didn’t take any in progress photos.
It is no secret I love a good looking cupcake stand and so when Cupcake City contacted me and asked me to review one of their products I was thrilled at this beauty.
Behold the Cream 2 tier Cupcake stand
Organising my memorabilia is probably the most important thing to me as a mother and wife. Of all of the things in our home we organise this really is the most precious and therefore always trumps a bathroom cupboard for me. I also like to make sure I adapt the organising of these memories as we go through different stage of childhood.
This storage of our children’s words and sayings, questions and life does not have to be super fancy or expensive- just a small easily accessible place to keep those things which make us smile.
Some craft love for you today. With the school holidays upon us I just wanted to share with you today a few small ways I organise to do crafts in our home. I have spoken earlier about getting a craft ready the night before if we are doing something on a work day. Having everything ready to go saves a lot of time and means you can get straight into getting your craft on instead of trying to find everything.
We are on holidays at the moment so not having to get up in the morning and go to work makes for a MUCH more relaxed morning. Now I can just put together our “actiwity” as Flynn calls it during the day on our little trays. Then when we are ready, Oliver is napping etc we can get started.
Today is a day of remembrance and being thankful for the sacrifices made for our country many years ago. Being right after Easter, Anzac day is a little forgotten which is a shame. I was thrilled to see this craft posted on the little delightful blog in memory of this day. This is a nice easy craft in which you can you this time to think and talk about the meaning behind this special day for our country.
Bianca shared the below links and I also found a few great websites which give some great tips on talking about this day with young children,
I hope you and your family enjoyed a fabulous Easter together : ) Sharing this time with family and friends is what this time is all about- feeling thankful and rejoicing in the sacrifices made for us to all be here today and yesterday and tomorrow. I for one am feeling very grateful for healthy family.
The Easter bunny left the boys some specials treats, and that messy bunny even left some footprints….
