So we just had Flynn’s birthday and we decided to go with a construction theme as among other things Flynn loves all things tools and fixing things. I thought I would share some bits and pieces from the day with everyone as I see via the comments a lot of you are about to plan birthdays in the next few weeks and months. It is always great to get extra ideas and I myself get a lot of mine from other blogs.
I will be listing under each photo where you can buy each item to help you to be able to source anything you see that you like : )
Whilst we are all recovering, cleaning up and packing away from this big day here is a little peak and what we got up to yesterday…
Oh joy we are all sick here. I came down with the flu a few days ago and all of the boys have swiftly followed suit with everyone coughing and sniffling. So hoping it will pass soon, but in the mean time a little parcel in the mail cheered me right up.
This gorgeous Buttermilk paper wrap arrived in the mail that I ordered from the Hip Infant HERE I seriously love this store. They have the cutest baby and kids stuff and I added this little extra in my order for some of Flynn’s birthday stuff. At 120x120cms it is also massive which is great as I will be able to use it for Oliver as he grows.
It is a very house sort of post today : )
1. Maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me but do you have two sinks in your kitchen?
Nope you are quite right there are 2 sinks in the kitchen- I cannot remember the exact reason we did this as we designed this kitchen about 4 1/2 years ago but I think it was because of the little round sink. We decided that it would be great for washing fruits and vegetables and got the vegie spray tap as well. I have to say it was one of the best investments and we use it all day every day. Less cleaning out of the sink as it is so small and so handy to have over the main cooking/baking side of the kitchen.
My baby shower has been featured on a few great blogs this past week that I wanted to share with you-
Firstly Posh Pixels – Kristy was the lovely lady who made all of the downloads for the party which we then used as cupcake toppers, decorations for the lolly jars and threaded through the straws. She is super talented and is going to be doing some custom stuff for Olivers Christening as well.
1. I would love to see a picture of your computer nook in the kitchen as we are building a new house and just doing the plans now and love that idea.
This would have to be one of the BEST things we did in this house. If you are building/renovating I highly recommend it and it works especially well in an open planning living area and when you have children. We have an office but I love to work out here as I can be out with my family and stop to play, make lunch, wipe noses. The drawers are great for family stuff, bills and paperwork etc.
Every year I say I am going to do less for the next birthday party…
Ahem

And yet every year I end up planning and cutting and making stuff for weeks and weeks before the big day. This year is no exception and we are well into the party planning here for Flynn’s 3rd birthday this Sunday.

1. When you were building your house, how did you keep all of your ideas, plans etc organised.
Ok well we built our home about 2 1/2 years ago and I still recall just how hard this process is so I sympathize with you all !! In 2007 we were building our home, trying to sell our other house, I was pregnant with Flynn and our dog had 3 beautiful little puppies. Yes it was CRAZY and looking back I am not quite sure how we did it!!
