Testing my patience

I will start by saying I love this little boy more than life itself. I would do anything for him and his health, well being, education and feeling of being loved is the most important thing to me as a parent. But come on seriously??

I am not sure how but I am sure that small children have a way of knowing when you are tired, need a break, pregnant, have worked all week, haven’t had a coffee and the list goes on. Between the getting out of bed one hundred thousand times a night to the constant pushing of boundaries, wanting to be picked up all of the time and having an amazing ability to not hear a word I say even if I have repeated myself 10 times requesting the same thing we really are having a trying time with Flynn at the moment. We are trying to remain consistent with our disciple choice- time out and have faith that it will pass with time and that it is only a stage.

The garden and a painting project

This will just be a quick weekend post as we are off busy around the house enjoying the sunshine. We have turned watering the garden into a fun and frequent project for Flynn around here. We have not had any rain for months and months and the poor garden and lawn is certainly suffering, I am so looking forward to the rain that winter will bring in the coming months.

Some Easter finds

I have been on the lookout over the last few days for Easter bits and pieces and I am going to share some of my finds today with you.

I am going to do a more detailed post on this topic some time next week but I have just discovered Etsy party printables. They are gorgeous downloads you purchase from the site and you are then able to to print and construct your own party bits and pieces and customize them, more info on this soon. But this is what my kitchen table is looking like at the moment, in between working, Flynn, sickness and the house there is not a lot of time and energy left but when there is I am putting together little easter egg baskets- among other things

Sickness

Well we are having a sick day today : ( Flynn has caught a bug from school (daycare) and so I decided to stay at home with him and lay low, trying to  make meals, look after a sick toddler and keep the house in a decent state is always a struggle but this is the first time I have done it at nearly 8 months pregnant so we will see how it goes…. wish me luck !!!

Small stuff

Today I thought I would share with you how I store my coupons and vouchers. 2 years ago we started buying the Kids Entertainment book and using their fantastic vouchers a lot. They are great for saving money but also for getting extra ideas on weekend activities and child friendly locations, holidays and restaurants. I like to store mine in my car as it reminds and encourages me to use them all- but here comes the dilemma on where to put them all? When I found this great little binder at Kikki.K I thought it would be perfect as it is small enough to keep in the car or pop in my purse.

Becky Higgins Baby Kit

Warning- really long post ahead !! As per your  requests todays post is going to cover off one of the baby albums I completed for Flynn for the first year of his life. This kit was actually launched when Flynn was about 18 months and so I had already scrapbooked his life up until then including pregnancy but when I saw the kit I knew I still had to complete this album. It is such a great over view of this special time and I fell in love with the kit and everything in it- I especially love the abundance of journaling cards you receive to document this time.

An important thing to note in this kit is that EVERYTHING is double sided or you get both a girl and boy version. So although everything you are seeing in my album is boy colours there is also the option of making this kit completely girly. The price this kit sells for is $45 which is fantastic value as you get everything you need to complete 2  albums and I had a lot of stuff left over as well. Here is the link to buy the kit  and here is heaps of information by Becky at the time the kit was launched. I bought a few of these and out them away for all of our future babies.

A weekend project for you- the Garage

So here is Friday : ) I thought I would share with you this week a little project my husband and I have been working on over the last few weekends and a couple of late nights!! Our Garage. The garage area is such a great storage space (if you have one) and often completely under utilized in my opinion. We always knew we wanted to do something with the back wall of this garage as not use 6 meters of uninterrupted wall space in your house seems crazy !!!

Firstly with garage storage you can really spend as much as you like- there are some super lovely and really expensive systems out there with cupboards and benches etc. As this is not a shed/workshop for us but simply household storage we stuck with simple Ikea units. They come in 2 depths and we went with the slightly bigger 60 cms to give ample room to hold storage tubs. You can position these units with the shelves and any heights you like and so you can customize them to your needs. We purchased the additional unit to make the shelving go right to the ceiling to use the space in the best way possible.
