Some Answers

I thought I would answer a few of your FAQ’s today as I know I have been sitting on these for awhile but with the blog move and Valentines day etc time has gotten away from me.

1. Do you have any tips on what you do to stay organised and balanced yourself? It’s hard with small children to look after yourself and it sure takes organisation to achieve it!!!

How best to start your morning.

We would all like to think it is a healthy well balanced breakfast of grains and fruits etc but I think Flynn and all toddlers in fact might just have the secret. Start the day off playing and having fun and not caring what anyone else thinks about you, (wearing your bob the builder hat at the table for example) so on that note I am going to go and spend some precious time with my little boy playing trains before I have to leave for a few days on a work trip.

Project Life has made me realize that these small, everyday and seemingly ordinary moments in our lives really ARE the big moments. They are the ones  our children will remember and they are the things which define us.

How I feel…

Inspired by the Becky Higgins post here I thought a lot yesterday about what I was feeling. Truth be told I had a not such great start to the day, my feelings were hurt, the day was long, I missed Kindy gym with Flynn due to an unexpected work commitment and the list went on.

It got to 5pm and I was seriously ready to throw in the towel and call the day done, when  from no where I had a burst of energy reminiscent of the old pre pregnant me. I hosed and watered and swept and vacuumed and mopped and tidied and sprayed and wiped and wow did it feel great : ) I have been out of action for months with my dear husband Simon taking over 90% of all major household duties, but now finally at 25 weeks I have that burst of energy I have been waiting for (man it took long enough!!). I am so glad to be “back”. Back to writing lists and laminating potty charts and writing up a weekend project lists/planners, chores charts, measuring furniture, getting paint samples  ahem slow down, I know but the old me is back !! I am so looking forward to starting to share this journey with you now that I am feeling better.

Project Life Tuesday 7-13th February

I shared a lot of photos this week- most of which will be going into my Project Life album and so I will just share with you a few additional things I snapped.

Cooking with this little bump is starting to mean wearing an apron as I drop everything on the poor love and also leaning over just a tad more than normal : )

Did you just spend ages…

Covering books to start school? Well I don’t have to do this just yet but when I was out shopping the other day I found these gorgeous exercise book covers that were just too cute to resist. They are literally a plastic cover that slips over the standard book you get from any stationary isle.

Ah what bliss not to have to wrestle with the contact again : ) I am not quite sure what I am going to do with mine yet- probably keep them for at home school stuff like writing and drawing etc at a later stage but I just had to share. They has about 4 other designs as well and the company has a website you can find here, and they were about $2.

Spending some time …

We are going to spend some time this weekend baking for our Valentines bags, running errands, playing trains and apparently eating lollipops. This was Flynn’s idea of helping yesterday when we were baking, oh and licking the bowl.

A few recent layouts and some more Valentines bags

These are a few recent layouts I have done for my Family and also Flynn’s Scrapbook. This is a page I did on Valentine’s crafts with Flynn, I am using a lot of hidden journaling at the moment so slipped just behind the top photo on the left page I have a cute little page with some words about what we made.

A free download and a little Valentine

I thought I would share a few things with you today. Firstly I found this gorgeous free download on the Twig and thistle website here. You can print it directly onto a white/coloured paper bag or you can also just print the download out on white cards and adhere it to any bag you like (I did the second option). I got plain white bags from Spotlight and then just adhered the download to the front, we will be giving these out filled with some yummy goodies and the Love notes mini book I posted earlier this week to our parents and close friends.

If you use the download I would love to hear/see what you make so please leave a comment or blog link so we can all see what you have created : )

I heart coffee

I love coffee, especially on days like today. Very busy and very tired and this is my saviour, I have cut down since falling pregnant but I still need about 2 a day.
