I bought these little mint tins to make favors for our Christmas BBQ but i ran out of time so I thought I would use them for little Valentines : ) These were super simple. I printed off these free downloads from the Project Girl site. Then simply cut one out and adhered it to the front, easy ! The mint tins were bought for $2.50 from The Wild Bean Cafe (inside BP).

Do you just love that question? Well we are doing some Valentines crafts over the weekend that I look forward to sharing with you next week : ) Have a great weekend.

I tried out this great new recipe that I wanted to share with you today. Being super organised means that you start thinking early !! So Valentines thinking starts for me in January, thinking about what we are going to make, bake and do together starts early so we can enjoy the process in the weeks before the day. So far I have ordered a few home decor bits, baked the below heart pillows, started our hand print valentines and bought some heart candies (for cupcakes). We love doing this sort of stuff together as it breaks the day up and makes it more exciting as we are doing different activities which is nice. I will of course be sharing all of the above crafts and cooking as they are complete so that you too can get a head start on Valentines day if you wish : ) Craft and baking just might not be your “thing” and that’s ok but in this house we love it, and doing an activity like this is my favourite part of our day.

I thought I would share this cute bit of Valentines decor I did in our home this week. I got these gorgeous little crochet hearts from this etsy store here. They were only $6.00 for 5 hearts and they are just super cute and such great quality I am so pleased. I love adding bits and pieces like this into our home each year. They arrived on a really hard and long day as well which was great as they made me smile, it’s the small things in life.

This recipe is straight from Taste.com and we gave it a test run on Monday night for some friends we had over for dinner (in light of Australia Day). It was really yummy and super easy as well, I think this one will become a regular in our household especially for winter. As we were having 5 for dinner I made these in individual ramekins but you could also use a large family size pie dish.

I hope everyone had a lovely day yesterday. It is great to have a day off from work that you can enjoy with family and friends, but so hard to get back into the swing of work today !!
Following on from last week here are some of my recent Project Life Photos. Some of you noticed last week I didn’t post 7 photos, I do actually take a photo every day but some of the them I share on the blog throughout the week (so I don’t re post them) and some I keep for just our family : ) I hope you are all enjoying the start of the process, I know I am looking forward to getting my kit one day next week and starting to put all of the album together and to get up to date on the journaling.
Playing outside in the backyard-
When I moved my blog over to Beyond the Baby I mentioned that there would be lots of new and exciting things to come. One of these is the monthly article and challenge I am going to start running from February. You will notice the tabs along the top of the blog labelled challenge and articles, this is where these will live. The article will go live on the first of the month and will be organising related, the challenge will then be to organize your own space at home and to share what you have done in the forum sharing tips, photos, links and things that have helped you organize your space.
I am in the process of writing the first article and I have chosen a space I have needed to work on for awhile to get myself motivated to do it- the Bathroom. So get your bathroom ready for the first challenge- I look forward to going on this journey with all of you.
Every girl need girlfriends. As you get older your priorities change, you meet someone, get married, have babies and get, well really really busy. Gone are the days when I had endless time to go out with my girlfriends, get all dressed up, drink cocktails and then spend Sunday recovering !! Now life is different, but in a good way. But it is still important to make time for these moment with your girlfriends. Whether it is catching up for a quite coffee after the kids are in bed, having a quiet phone call while your husband plays with the kids or having a girls night out (like I did last night !!). Yes we are all tired, myself included but honestly once you push past that initial feeling that you would rather go the bed and have a sleep you realize you are having fun !!
There is the ultimate danger when becoming a mum of truly losing yourself. You can end up at a dinner party and realize the only thing you have talked about all night is your child’s sleep routine or how many teeth they have. And that conversation is important and it is the most important part of your life but there is also a whole other world out there, I try to make an effort when chatting with my girlfriends to talk about their jobs, wedding plans, house renovations and plans for the future : ) It is a nice change from kindy and nappy change talk.
Cannot be bought or sold, exchanged or devalued, swapped or bargained. They are the people who make your life amazing, special and worthwhile and they are the reason you get up in the morning.
This is mine, and I am making sure to treasure every sweetest moment be gives me : ) I hope you all enjoy your weekend !!
